Recent arrivals (and departures)

I don’t know whether it’s nesting kicking in early, or sanity finally prevailing, but I am throwing out more and more of my TBR pile. I picked out about 40 books the other night to go out the door to the local bookswap… a post on those is to follow. Coming in the door recently have been:

The first two books of the Phryne Fisher series by Kerry Greenwood, kindly bought for me as a birthday present by The German after she lent me her copy of Unnnatural Habits and I mentioned how much I love the TV series and had been wanting to read the series. I can’t wait to get stuck into these. The Ascendant turned up as a review copy and looks quite interesting in the Gods Behaving Badly mold – the Greek gods are living in Guildford and getting into trouble. Looks just right for a weekend read. Aren’t you good sending books out of the door as well as welcoming new ones in! I have a Phryne Fisher on my TBR bookshelf which I want to try out.

All the triple-stacked bookshelves are making me antsy. Some of them have got to go. I’ve finished the first PF book and it was most excellent.
