Musing Mondays – Recommended

What do you think of books that give you recommended reading lists? Do you read them? Do you use their suggestions? Why/why not?

{eg. “THE BOOK OF BOOKS: The Continuously Updated Book Guide to Recommended Reading...” or “BOOK LUST” by Nancy Pearl}

Oh yeah, you guys thought I forgot how to blog. No, the sun came out and cricket happened. Can’t believe that the first Ashes test was so close. Next time, we’re definitely going to make those extra 15 runs. I will not be screaming “nnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo” at the TV as The Physicist Mr RWT dances around in happiness.

</cricket chat>.

Re the above question – LOVE. I love those books. I adored The End of Your Life Book Club. ADORED. I took notes all the way through then discovered there was a list at the back.

On the other hand, am I ever going to read all the books I own, never mind all the books I want to read? NO. Are these books with their reading lists piling on the impossible pressure? YES. Do I care? NOT REALLY.
