Musing Mondays – A fresh start

This week’s Musing Mondays, hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading, is:

What is/are the first book(s) you’re reading for the new year?

As I wrote on Saturday, I’m undertaking lots of challenges this year. LOTS.

First up on the reading list is David Malouf’s Remembering Babylon, for Australian Literature Month, the Aussie Author Challenge and the TBR Challenge. I’ve owned this slim volume since Oct 15, 2010.

So far, I’ve only read the first few sentences… and I’m off on a little road trip today which will not aid reading progress because I’m the sole driver…

I’m thinking of starting the year with Penelope Lively’s Family Album (one of her more recent books) after reading and loving Moon Tiger (one of her much older ones) over Christmas. How’s Remembering Babylon going?

I’m really struggling with it – I think I have to sit down and read it in one go.
