This week’s Musing Mondays, hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading, is:
What book do you wish you were reading right now? Where would you take it to, if you could go anywhere to read for a while?
Right now I would love to be embarking on a series read of Sue Grafton’s alphabet novels, starring Kinsey Millhone as a private detective extraordinaire, or maybe Elizabeth Peters’ Amelia Peabody series; I’m collecting both of these series so I can read them through in one swoop, and I’ve nearly collected the whole lot secondhand/on Bookmooch.
I would probably take my huge pile of books to Sydney, to my favourite armchair or maybe Manly Beach (although in early March I’ll still be sunburned in about 25 minutes… Or maybe the armchair that sits in my room at my parents’ house in Germany, which is probably the most comfortable chair I’ve ever sat in in my entire life – the Norwegians make great furniture.

I wish I was reading all of Agatha Christie novels one after the other, in a big comfy chair, copious amounts of tea, a huge selection of biscuits and a blanket for when I got cold.
That said there is nothing to stop doing the above I just need to stop reading all the other books I have and that keep getting published!
Tea, biscuits and blanket sound most excellent.
I wish I had saved some Kate Atkinson’s instead of tearing through them so quickly last year in a competition to read more books than my dad. I managed to beat him (I read 64, he read 62) but now I am without a lovely Kate Atkinson so enjoy slowly with many cups of tea.
I have just come back from a lovely relaxed holiday in Pembrokeshire and would really like to be back there reading away. I am very much enjoying the Alexandria Quartet at the moment, so I’m not sure I’d change my reading material. But if that got a bit dense I think I quite fancy some Jasper Fforde.
